Our customers include leading public cloud and silicon providers and industry leaders across sectors. Teams meet periodically in interesting locations worldwide to align on strategy and execution.

The company is expanding its channel sales team to meet increasing demand from channel partners, leveraging their expertise to bring open source technology to various industries. The Partner Sales Executive, North America, will report to the Director, Americas Channel Sales, and will need a mix of farming and hunting skills. The role involves achieving growth quotas, identifying, prospecting, and engaging reseller and distributor partners, and building relationships to grow Canonical's business in the territory.

The ideal candidate must be comfortable leading initiatives in a startup-like environment, selling open source, cloud, virtualization, and technical software solutions. While primarily focused on channel partners, the role also involves initial customer discovery calls and presentations.

The Role Entails
  • Developing and executing channel strategies for distributors and resellers
  • Increasing awareness of Canonical in Open Source and Cloud (Private, Hybrid, Multi, and Public)
  • Recruiting new partners in the territory
  • Leveraging networks and prospecting to engage new partners
  • Guiding partners through onboarding and enablement
  • Developing go-to-market plans with partners
  • Conducting sales and pre-sales training
  • Managing channel pipeline through partner interactions
  • Supporting partner satisfaction and acting as a trusted advisor
  • Maintaining regular contact with key resellers and distributors
What we are looking for in you
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a tech field
  • Experience in software or tech sales
  • Fluency in English
  • Understanding of open source, Linux, and Ubuntu
  • Proven sales achievement and self-motivation
  • Strong follow-up and negotiation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a distributed team
  • Long-term relationship development skills
  • Ability to represent the company externally
  • Start-up experience is a plus
