Job summary

EDMO is seeking a results-driven Partnership Manager in the Salinas Valley area to lead district and community partnerships, develop strategy, and oversee program operations.

You will supervise Senior Program Managers, manage budgets, and drive revenue through stakeholder engagement, with a bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or a related discipline.
  • Four years of experience in a similar role; two years in supervisory capacity preferred.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven partner/client relations management background.
  • Experience negotiating agreements and contracts with partners.

Job description

EDMO is a thriving educational nonprofit that has been inspiring and empowering young minds since 2004. With a dedicated team of 30+ full‑time professionals and 400+ seasonal staff, we are a leading provider of out‑of‑school programs, offering award‑winning summer camps and after‑school activities across Northern California.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner Relationship Management
    • Develop long‑term relationships with key stakeholders at district and community level.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for district and community partners, maintaining regular communication.
    • Align program delivery with partner expectations, student needs, and EDMO’s mission.
    • Identify partnership concerns, opportunities, and risks; collaborate with the Partner Relations Director to address them.
    • Check in quarterly with relationships managed by Senior Program Managers.
  • Partnership Development
    • Implement a clear vision and strategy for establishing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.
    • Identify and outreach to community partners who can add value to the partnership.
    • Work with the EDMO team to create new systems needed to support new community or district partnerships.
    • Lead outreach and onboarding for assigned partnerships and regions.
    • Schedule, prepare, and lead regular, organized meetings with key partners or potential new partners.
  • Program Operation and Management
    • Ensure programs include all aspects of the agreed scope of work and co‑create implementation plans.
    • Offer onsite support to Senior Program Managers overseeing day‑to‑day operations.
    • Gather feedback from partners, field staff, families, and internal stakeholders to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
    • Conduct mandatory daily visits to program sites to check on operations and metrics.
    • Use creative problem‑solving skills to develop relevant and timely program solutions.
    • Advise partners on profitable and efficient program delivery options.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities
    • Supervise, coach, and support Senior Program Managers to ensure effective operations and partnership satisfaction.
    • Lead performance review cycles and hold managers accountable for operations, compliance, and communication.
    • Create and manage site training schedules and training content agendas.
    • Oversee and manage site spending, labor costs, and vendor contracts.
  • Project Management
    • Lead project management duties for each partnership, outlining deliverables and holding all parties accountable.
    • Facilitate information flow between partners and internal teams.
  • Performance Monitoring and Improvement
    • Monitor and evaluate the success of partnership initiatives, making data‑driven recommendations for growth.
    • Conduct regularly scheduled partnership reviews and create actionable plans.
  • Revenue Generation
    • Communicate partners’ interests and needs to internal leaders to convert them into future revenue streams.
    • Inform partners of additional or future programs/services under consideration.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive partnership initiatives and negotiate agreements.
    • Inform internal teams of outcomes from reviews and adjust accordingly.
  • Other Duties
    • Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline.
  • Four years of experience in a similar role; two years in a supervisory capacity preferred.

  • Ability to collaborate across departments and guide Senior Program Managers in a mission‑aligned manner.
  • Experience in an education‑related field is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Google, Slack, Monday, and similar systems.
  • Customer‑oriented mindset with the ability to think like a partner.

Location & Physical Requirements
  • Position is in person in the Salinas Valley area; requires daily travel to partner sites, school districts, and program locations.
  • Work up to five days a week in the district office or a school site.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and moving around with kids.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds to a height of 3–4 feet.
  • Participation in virtual meetings.
