Job description

Mission

Cultivating environmentally sound, economically viable, community-focused farms and food systems

Program overview

Pasa aims to enhance economic opportunities for farmers across the eastern U.S. states, including those on tribal lands, by expanding access to technical assistance and resources, such as conservation practice implementation, direct marketing, cooperative business planning, community science, education, and other resources. We are focusing on helping farmers improve profitability through sustained methods for market expansion, supply chain improvement, and increased direct-to-consumer sales, thereby enhancing economic opportunities for farmers. Services are provided by Pasa, partner organizations, and non-partner contractors.

Position overview

The Partner Liaison will be responsible for engaging with partner organizations participating in joint funding opportunities and facilitating effective partner-related collaboration internally. Areas of focus will include maintaining positive relationships with partners and internal Pasa teams, communicating program details clearly and consistently, and collecting and maintaining partner-related data for grant reporting.

An ideal candidate for this position is intimately familiar with farming and food system topics and is a well-rounded communicator who possesses a diverse array of administrative skills—including writing and editing, meeting facilitation, ability to synthesize and summarize information, and strong record keeping standards. Candidates should have a willingness to learn and continuously develop skills in these areas. This position collaborates closely with Pasa's Intake team and Conservation team to support all aspects of partner communication and ensure information is consistently shared internally to facilitate successful collaboration around partner relations.

This position will be supervised by the Finance Director.

This is a primarily remote position with in-person workdays and 2-3 annual in-person staff retreats. All employees are required to attend our annual Sustainable Agriculture Conference, which takes place each February in Lancaster, PA. Employees are required to live in Pennsylvania or within 150 miles of Harrisburg, unless they receive approval for Philadelphia or Pittsburgh to be their primary work location, in which case employees are required to live within an hour's drive from Philadelphia or Pittsburgh. Pasa does not provide relocation support. If hired, employees have 3 months to relocate. If you have questions, please inquire. Employees must comply with Pasa's remote employee policies.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure the timely communication of program information and support effective program delivery
  • Engage with partners through individual and group meetings to provide technical assistance, address challenges, and monitor program progress
  • Create and maintain shared resources with most current program details, ensuring accessibility to all collaborators
  • Complete administrative requirements relating to partner grant reporting, adhering to strong data management protocols
  • Work with Pasa's partners to ensure timely reporting on grant metrics and deliverables
  • Help design and manage evaluation frameworks to measure program impact
  • Ensure the project aligns with organizational values, including a commitment to anti-oppression
  • Exercise strong conflict resolution skills to foster productive, collaborative relationships
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively across Pasa program and strategic services areas to ensure successful execution of project deliverables
Qualifications
  • Degree in an agriculture or science-related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience with supporting large, multi-partner grants or projects
  • Demonstrated research or data management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, etc.)
  • Database use (Salesforce preferred, but not required)
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience communicating directly with farmers
  • Passion for Pasa’s mission
  • Commitment to advancing anti-oppression
Preferred qualifications
  • 1 - 5 years of production agriculture experience
  • 3+ years of experience with Pasa or a peer organization
Compensation
