Overview

Partner, Environmental Permitting – Oil & Gas at ERM. ERM shapes a sustainable future for leading organizations, helping plan, develop, and operate energy assets while securing construction and operating permits for new energy infrastructure.

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our firm as a key client-facing Partner to join our Capital Project Development Team, with a focus on our Energy clients. The role focuses largely on the traditional energy sector (oil and gas) within the Gulf Coast footprint and beyond, with the goal of assisting clients from planning through construction and operation and driving environmental, social, health and cultural resource performance improvements.

We will consider strong candidates in the Gulf Coast geography (Houston, New Orleans, Dallas, Austin) and Florida.

Responsibilities
  • Grow client accounts and deliver the full spectrum of ERM’s consulting services to the Energy and/or Power industries.
  • Develop and grow ERM’s Capital Project Development services and business.
  • Collaborate with regional leadership to implement go-to-market programs for decarbonization, alternative energy, and Low Carbon Economy Transition projects.
  • Work with client account directors and regional leaders to implement client and market segment programs.
  • Assist clients in achieving project success from planning through construction and operation.
  • Develop new client relationships and expand existing ones by delivering strategic consulting, value, and high-quality service.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry cycles and prioritize sales toward high-potential opportunities.
  • Develop commercial strategies to pursue and win new business with Energy and/or Power clients.
  • Drive innovation to meet client needs and differentiate ERM in the market.
  • Build and mentor a high-performance team of consultants.
  • Meet business health & safety standards, financial targets, project budgets and schedules, client satisfaction, and internal risk management.
  • Engage with ERM’s technical communities focused on biodiversity, impact assessment, and related policy/compliance.
Requirements
  • BS/MS in environmental science, biology, or related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in management consulting with substantial work in the Energy or Power sectors.
  • Track record in delivering multi-million-dollar annual sales/programs.
  • Strong understanding of the Energy/Power industry and existing relationships to leverage new business.
  • Understanding of the regulatory environment, key agencies, and current and emerging issues (e.g., carbon transitioning).
  • Business acumen to understand risks and opportunities to provide enterprise-wide solutions for clients.
