Job description

We are seeking a senior compliance professional to provide advisory support and risk oversight across a fintech partner banking program. This individual will serve as a key advisor to Partner Banking leadership and will lead the compliance assessment of prospective and existing fintech relationships.

The role combines partner due diligence, financial and compliance risk assessment, consumer regulatory guidance, BSA/AML advisory, and ongoing partner oversight. The successful candidate will be comfortable translating complex regulatory requirements into practical recommendations for business teams and external partners while helping strengthen the controls supporting a growing partner banking platform.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead compliance and risk evaluations of prospective and existing fintech partners, including initial due diligence, periodic reviews, and reviews triggered by material changes or emerging concerns.
  • Assess partners across both financial and compliance dimensions and develop clear risk ratings and recommendations regarding onboarding, continuation, remediation, or termination.
  • Evaluate financial condition and business sustainability through review of financial statements, liquidity, funding sources, capital position, operating performance, and business model.
  • Assess the effectiveness and maturity of partner compliance programs, including governance, policies, controls, staffing, monitoring and testing, complaint management, and regulatory history.
  • Develop clear written assessments and recommendations for Partner Banking leadership and applicable governance committees.
Compliance Advisory
  • Serve as a senior advisor on regulatory and compliance matters affecting fintech partner relationships.
  • Provide guidance on federal consumer protection requirements, including UDAAP/UDAP, Regulation E, Regulation DD, Regulation P, TILA, ECOA, and FCRA.
  • Review partner products, marketing materials, disclosures, and customer experiences for potential regulatory and compliance concerns.
  • Work with BSA/AML stakeholders on CIP/KYC, transaction monitoring, SAR requirements, sanctions, and other financial crime considerations within partner programs.
  • Advise internal teams and fintech partners on regulatory expectations, identified compliance issues, remediation efforts, and appropriate controls.
  • Provide compliance guidance throughout the partner lifecycle, from initial assessment and onboarding through ongoing oversight and relationship changes.
  • Work across Compliance, Enterprise Risk, BSA/AML, Legal, Information Security, Product, Operations, and other functions to identify and address partner-related risks.
  • Evaluate the movement of data and funds across partner integrations to identify potential compliance or control gaps.
  • Recommend enhancements to policies, procedures, controls, monitoring, and governance as the partner program expands.
  • Evaluate cross-border partner activity, including foreign banking or payments requirements and related AML, sanctions, financial, and regulatory risks.
  • Contribute to senior management and governance reporting on partner risk, significant issues, and emerging regulatory concerns.
Regulatory & Examination Support
  • Monitor regulatory developments, supervisory guidance, enforcement actions, and other developments affecting fintech partnerships and third-party banking arrangements.
  • Translate regulatory developments into practical recommendations for Partner Banking leadership and relevant business teams.
  • Support federal banking examinations and internal audits involving partner banking and third-party oversight.
  • Assist with examination responses, supporting documentation, issue remediation, and follow-up activities.
  • Apply applicable interagency third-party risk management guidance and supervisory expectations to partner evaluations and ongoing oversight.
Technology & Program Enhancement
  • Use AI-enabled research and compliance tools to improve regulatory analysis, due diligence, documentation, and partner oversight.
  • Apply data mapping and data-flow analysis to understand partner integrations and identify potential control weaknesses.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the consistency, efficiency, and scalability of partner compliance processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 8+ years of experience in banking compliance, risk management, fintech partner oversight, or a related field, with meaningful exposure to consumer compliance, BSA/AML, and bank-fintech partnerships.
  • Direct experience conducting due diligence and risk assessments of fintech partners or comparable third-party financial services relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate both financial condition and compliance risk, including financial statements, liquidity, funding, business viability, governance, controls, testing, complaint management, and regulatory history.
  • Strong knowledge of federal consumer financial protection requirements, including TILA, ECOA, FCRA, UDAAP/UDAP, Regulation E, Regulation DD, and Regulation P.
  • Working knowledge of BSA/AML requirements and their application to fintech or third-party banking relationships.
  • Experience assessing cross-border risks, including foreign banking or payments requirements and associated AML and sanctions considerations.
  • Familiarity with regulatory guidance and supervisory expectations governing third-party relationships and bank-fintech arrangements.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide practical compliance advice to senior business leaders, internal stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to prepare concise risk assessments, recommendations, and regulatory documentation.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a growing environment where policies, controls, and processes continue to evolve.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled compliance or research tools and data mapping or data-flow analysis.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience supporting federal banking examinations involving fintech partnerships, third-party risk, or similar matters.
  • Experience within a federally regulated banking institution.
  • Experience reviewing fintech marketing materials and customer-facing disclosures for regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with compliance management systems, third-party risk management platforms, or marketing compliance monitoring tools.
  • CRCM, CAMS, or another relevant compliance certification.
