Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED; Associate degree or vocational-technical degree preferred.
• Minimum of one year of full-time experience performing investigative work enforcing laws, codes, or regulations such as building, fire, health, land use/zoning, or related codes.

Responsibilities

• Receives and responds to public inquiries and complaints regarding zoning ordinance and related activities.
• Enforces the zoning ordinance and property maintenance code; explains and guides on business license tax laws and regulations.
• Conducts tree inspections and approves/denies permits for tree removal.
• Maintains logs and inspection reports; prepares studies and reports for decision making.
• Represents the City in court when zoning tickets are adjudicated; ensures compliance with codes and procedures.
• Performs general code enforcement duties and clerical work; handles reports, correspondence, and record-keeping.
