Job summary

Boys & Girls Club of Tri-County Area is seeking a part-time Youth Wellness Coordinator at the Berlin Site to provide social and emotional support for ages 5-18 using trauma-informed care. You will mentor youth, deliver 1:1 and group activities, and support safe, nurturing environments during Club hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or coursework in human services.
• Experience with at-risk youth; understanding of trauma and SEL needs.
• Ability to create developmentally appropriate SEL activities.
• Experience leading programs for at-risk youth.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally.
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, implement, and evaluate SEL programs aligned to the 3 Priority Outcome Areas.
• Incorporate SMART Girls/Boys programming to promote healthy decisions and self-esteem.
• Oversee intervention and prevention support during Club hours.
• Manage OJJDP mentoring program per grant requirements.
• Maintain daily contact with staff, members, and supervisor.
• Engage in CASeload goals with Area Director to support youth success.
• Provide guidance and staff training on behavior intervention.
• Participate in meetings to support youth and families as needed.
• Assist in crisis situations with appropriate interventions.
• Create an environment where youth feel safe physically, mentally, and emotionally.
• Build family engagement and community partnerships to support youth mental health.
• Communicate effectively with youth, parents, volunteers, and community.
• Model professional and ethical standards.
• Meet deadlines through effective time management.
• Track and report outcomes for grant deliverables.
• Serve as a Mandated Child Abuse Reporter.
