Job summary

Boys & Girls Club in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico is seeking a part-time Recreational Facilitator to guide sports, education, and recreational activities for children and teens. The position emphasizes safety, positive discipline, and creating an engaging learning environment inside and outside the Club.

You will develop programs, evaluate participant performance, and maintain equipment while collaborating with staff to ensure quality experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or university credits in physical education or Recreation and Sports.
• One year of experience working with children and youth.
• Ability to motivate and encourage participants.
• Strong observation and communication skills.
• Customer service principles and teamwork.
• Ability to work with the public and provide support to participants.

Responsibilities

• Develop and facilitate fun education and recreation activities, sports practices, and events.
• Evaluate participant and team performance and adjust activities.
• Maintain equipment and the work environment in good condition.
• Lead activities ensuring safety rules and standards are followed.
• Foster belonging and resolve conflicts to maintain group cohesion.
• Provide professional appearance and high level of customer service.
• Collaborate with Club and organizational activities.
