Job summary

State of Missouri is seeking a part-time Social Services Aide/Community Mentor to work with youth in day treatment and residential programs. The role emphasizes empathy, nonjudgment, and professional conduct while helping youth with routines, education, and community connections.

The position pays $16.84 per hour with potential differential increases. Employees are considered hourly/temporary and are not eligible for benefits.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child development and family roles.
• Ability to communicate clearly with adolescent clients.
• Valid driver’s license required and driving a state vehicle may be involved.
• Ability to work empathetically with youth and families.

Responsibilities

• Transport youth to school, appointments, and meetings in a state vehicle.
• Provide companionship and guidance to youth to support constructive activities.
• Offer tutoring or academic assistance with schoolwork.
• Assist with employment opportunities and connecting to community resources.
• Maintain logs of client contacts and report to supervisor.
• Meet weekly with supervisor to discuss progress and plan.
