The Salvation Army is seeking a part-time Youth Program Assistant to support after-school and summer activities in Lincoln, NE. You will supervise children, assist with homework, and help run program activities Tue-Fri 2:45 PM–6:00 PM.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, basic MS Office skills, a valid driver''s license, and the ability to pass background checks and Safe from Harm training within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work with youth.
• Must pass background checks and Safe from Harm training within 90 days.
• Valid driver''s license and reliable transportation.

Responsabilités

• Assist with homework and tutoring program.
• Follow up with teachers and parents to ensure that the student completes necessary homework assignments.
• Provide supervision for the children in the program.
• Enforce all rules and fair discipline among program participants.
• Report any accidents/incidents to the director and complete the proper forms.
• Responsible for the set up and take down of games and equipment used for activities.
• Responsible for transporting children in Salvation Army vans and enforcing safety rules.
• Positively interact with volunteers and visitors.
• Responsible for writing receipts and collecting money from program fees & concessions.
• Assist in planning and implementing Community Center programs.
• Assist during seasonal events.
• Responsible for cleaning up after meals and youth activities.
• Specific task of day camp support for 90 days or less during the summer.
• Attend corps events & programs, on occasional nights/weekends.
• Driving is an essential aspect of this position.
• All other duties as assigned.
