Job summary

Trinity Lutheran Church of Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a part-time Youth Director to plan and oversee Junior High and Senior High programs, fostering faith formation and discipleship.

The role reports to the Family Ministry Director and emphasizes a Lutheran understanding, safety, and effective communication with students, families, and volunteers. The position may grow in hours as the ministry develops.

Qualifications

• Living and loving relationship with Jesus.
• Passionate about ministry to youth (middle and high school).
• A relevant degree or background for youth ministry.
• Uphold Child Protection Policy requirements at all times.
• Work with Youth Ministry Volunteers (identify, recruit, train).
• Maintain background checks and CPP training on all volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Plan weekly youth group gatherings and coordinate a three-year Confirmation program.
• Develop curriculum, teaching, service opportunities, retreats and other experiences.
• Create mission, vision and values for Youth Ministry; promote events to visitors and members.
• Maintain attendance records and participate in budget development for Youth Ministry.
• Partner with churches/organizations to expand outreach and opportunities.
