The Mentoring Alliance is seeking a Part Time Youth Mentor to support after-school enrichment for elementary students, guiding development in a Christian ministry setting.

You will work 17–20 hours per week, Monday through Friday afternoons, leading activities, modeling positive behavior, and contributing to a welcoming, faith-filled after-school program in Tyler, TX. This role emphasizes service, responsibility, and personal integrity within a nurturing community.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years old; HS diploma or GED preferred
• Passion for working with elementary children
• Experience with elementary children preferred
• Available Monday–Friday 2:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. during school year
• CPR/First Aid certification required
• Background/Sex offender check required
• Valid driver's license or valid ID required
• Legally allowed to work in the United States
• Dependable transportation required
• Spanish-speaking ability valued

Part Time Youth Mentor

We are seeking ministry-minded individuals to be on our After School team. The Part Time Youth Mentor's primary role is fostering youth development in an after school setting by leading elementary students in enrichment activities. We are looking for an Part Time Youth Mentor who is devoted to excellence, wholeheartedness, and developing kids to reach their full potential! You have the chance to have an eternal impact and be a role model to kids in your community. A Part Time Youth Mentor is non-exempt, part-time position that average 17-20 hours per week.

At Mentoring Alliance After School, we hire teachers, youth workers, teen workers, college students, mentors and more to serve and develop kids in our programs. As a Christian ministry we are geared toward serving kids and students in our community by offering awesome after school care and activities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Agree with and exhibit behaviors in accordance with the Mentoring Alliance Statement of Faith
• Must be at least 17 years of age; High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred and some post-secondary training highly preferred
• Have a passion and love for working with elementary school-aged children
• Experience working with elementary school-aged children is preferred
• Able to work Monday - Friday 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. during the school calendar year
• Ability to earn CPR/First Aid certification (mandatory)
• Pass Mandatory Background/Sex offender check
• Valid driver's license or Valid ID
• Legally allowed to work in the United States
• Have dependable transportation
• Spanish-speaking ability greatly valued
