Job summary

The YMCA is seeking an Arts Studio Assistant to support the Arts Instructor in a busy youth arts program. Part-time hours include Mon-Wed 4:00–6:00 pm, Fri 4:00–6:00 pm, and Sat 9:00–11:00 am.

Compensation is $16.50 per hour, with duties focusing on studio setup, student guidance, behavior reinforcement, and safety procedures. Responsibilities include assisting with prep, supervising children, maintaining cleanliness, and following the Arts Studio Orientation Packet.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Experience working with and monitoring children of different age groups.
• Strong organizational, verbal and written communication, interpersonal, decision-making and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Arts Instructor with setting up the studio and maintaining cleanliness and organization.
• Support students and help them follow directions and stay on track.
• Reinforce positive behaviors and escort children between rooms as needed.
• Assist in washing hands and maintain safety procedures.
• Maintain required paperwork and sustain communication with Arts Director and Instructor.
• Other duties as assigned by the Arts Studio Director or Instructors.
