Job summary

The City of Golden is seeking a part-time yoga instructor to teach classes to youth, adults, and seniors. The ideal candidate can teach on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:15 to 11:15 am, with consideration for other class times.

Responsibilities include class coordination, safety, and assisting the Recreation Coordinator - Fitness with program improvements. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, at least five years of yoga practice with one year teaching experience, and current CPR

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ experience practicing yoga with one year teaching experience.
• Current certification in one or more yoga disciplines or affiliations required.
• Must hold a current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Teach yoga classes to youth, adults, and seniors.
• Coordinate and prepare music and choreography for class routines.
• Assist the Recreation Coordinator - Fitness with program evaluation and improvements.
• Handle and report problems or emergencies during classes.
• Promote exercise safety and best practices.
• Set up and take down equipment; keep space organized.
• Secure a substitute when unable to work assigned class.
• Follow department policies and maintain professional conduct.
