Job summary

FedEx Corporation is hiring for a yard and package handling role. Responsibilities include moving trailers between yard and doors, loading/unloading packages, and maintaining safety procedures in a fast-paced environment.

Qualified candidates should have a valid driver’s license, be able to perform hand-to-surface handling, and meet the physical demands of repetitive lifting and sorting. Training and equipment provided where needed.

Qualifications

• No formal education required.
• Six months experience as a package handler or switching/CDL operator preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to understand and follow work duties and safety methods.
• Ability to use basic equipment such as dock carts, hand-held scanners, chutes.

Responsibilities

• Moves trailers by hooking and moving parked trailers from yard to doors or from doors to yard.
• Coordinates trailer movements with management or central control.
• Documents trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Conducts pre- and post-trip inspections on equipment.
• Performs hand-to-surface package handling and sorts packages by size and destination.
• Loads and unloads packages onto vehicles, conveyors, or carts.
