Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of interscholastic athletics and communicate it to players, parents and the public.
• Develop, communicate and model policies for athletes' conduct and language in various settings.
• Maintain fair, unbiased relationships with all squad members.
• Allow athletes to prove themselves anew each season and avoid bias from past seasons.
• Provide opportunities for skill development and participation in school and community activities.
• Prioritize athletes’ physical well-being during all activities.
• Teach respect for school authorities and contest officials.
• Ensure adherence to game rules and contest regulations.
• Attend required meetings and stay informed on MHSAA policies and eligibility.
• Present a clean, professional image and model appropriate conduct.
