Job summary

Michigan City High School is seeking a Girls Wrestling Assistant Coach for the 2026-2027 school year. The role supports the Head Coach and the athletic program, promoting high standards of conduct and teamwork during practices and contests.

The assistant will help with fundraising, organizing activities, communications with the Athletic Director, documentation, and meeting participation; must attend meetings, support safety, and assist with equipment and inventory.

Qualifications

• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with coordinating the total program with the Head Coach and other assistant coaches
• Aid with fundraising for the team
• Encourage team participation in department fundraising
• Communicate with the Athletic Director
• Assist with organizing practices and activities
• Attend required athletic department and IHSAA meetings
• Assist with documentation for physicals; rosters; awards; eligibility; emergency medical forms; and any other required information in the time frame set forth by the Athletic Department
• Complete the IHSAA/NFHS coach certification program
• Assist with communicating with college recruiters and help to arrange appropriate meetings
• Be present at all practices and contests, providing assistance, guidance, and safeguards for each participant
• Assist Head Coach with all equipment and uniforms including the safety, inventory, and storage and to be sure the annual update of inventory to the Athletic Department is promptly turned in after the season ends
• Follow all District, School and Athletic Department policies and procedures
