Job summary

Advantage Surgical and Wound Care in Pueblo, CO is seeking a Part-Time Wound Care Specialist (1-2 days/week) to round at multiple facilities within a designated territory. MD/DO license required, board certification preferred, and valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities include bedside wound care in post-acute care settings, daily rounds, collaborating with facility staff, wound debridement, and education for nursing staff and families. Competitive compensation and full benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Wound care experience in post-acute settings is preferred.
• Wound care specialists work in SNFs, long-term care hospitals, and similar facilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments with attention to risk factors for wound formation.
• Collaborate with facility staff to ensure an effective wound care plan.
• Perform wound debridement and prescribe appropriate dressings.
• Educate nursing staff and maintain open communication with primary care physicians and families.
• Order necessary medications and provide clear usage instructions.
• Provide quality patient care to geriatric patients.
