Job summary

PennWest seeks a Part-Time Assistant Women’s Wrestling Coach to support the head coach in running a competitive program within PSAC and NCAA guidelines. The role requires attending practices and competitions regularly and assisting in recruiting and academic support for student athletes.

The position involves budget planning, travel coordination, fundraising, and promoting the program, with duties expanding to advance both the team and university objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Computer knowledge required.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication.
• Travel, including some nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Experience wrestling or coaching at the collegiate level preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach with the management/implementation of a competitive program within PSAC, NCAA, the CBA, and university rules.
• Assist with planning and managing competitions and practices, including in-season and out-of-season player development.
• Attend practice and competitions on a regular basis.
• Assist in recruiting qualified student athletes.
• Promote the academic success of student athletes.
• Advise student athletes of athletic policies and NCAA requirements.
• Help implement the Edinboro University Athletic Drug Education program; be part of the drug screening team.
• Assist in managing the program budget and travel arrangements.
• Participate in fund-raising events and public relations.
• Submit monthly work schedules to the Head Coach; perform other duties as assigned.
