Part Time Women's Assistant Soccer Coach
SUNY Niagara is seeking an Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach. In conjunction with the Director of Athletics and Head Women’s Soccer Coach, this individual will be responsible for assisting in the planning, directing, programming, supervising and implementing the duties and functions of the women’s soccer program.
Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays when necessary plus strong interpersonal, organizational, written and oral communication skills.
Typical Work Activities
- Responsible for assisting in the administering all aspects of the program, including coaching, promoting, making team travel arrangements, requisitioning and maintaining equipment, supervising students, monitoring academic progress of student-athletes, and fulfilling other duties as they arise or as assigned by the Head Coach.
- Responsible for being thoroughly familiar with and complying with all College, department, regional, district, and NJCAA policies.
- Responsible for assisting in providing instruction and training necessary to create skills, techniques, and physical conditioning sufficient to enable participants to compete safely and competently.
- Responsible for providing on-site supervision during all practice and game situations including locker room supervision.
- Responsible for adhering to all the guidelines, policy/procedures in the department policy manual.
- Responsible for exhibiting a high level of expertise in his or her sport and to seek self-improvement by attending clinics, seminars, and other developmental programs.
- Responsible for treating the academic achievement and requirements necessary for progress toward a degree as a matter of the highest priority for the student-athlete, and to be sensitive to final examination schedules when scheduling practice and game competition.
- Effectively assisting the Head Coach in encouraging a sufficient number of new student-athletes to attend NCCC annually.
- Responsible for assisting the Director of Athletics and taking an active part in all departmental fund-raising/promotion projects.
- Responsible for representing the College on the highest professional level with dignity, integrity, and strength of character and to exhibit ethical behavior.
- Responsible for treating opposing coaches, officials, students, and colleagues with respect and dignity.
- Responsible for assisting the Head Coach in determining, within the scope of the athletic department policies, which squad members will receive season-end awards, and assist the Head Coach in conferring them at the College-sponsored awards program.
- Responsible for, at the conclusion of the sport season, assisting the Head Coach in developing a summary report on their specific program.
- Responsible for other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Director of Athletics.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate;
- Two (2) years of college or four (4) years high school/club coaching experience in soccer.
- Certified or willing to become certified in first aid, CPR, and AED use.
