Job summary
Corewell Health's West Wound, Ostomy and Continence team seeks a Part-time Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized care for ostomy, wounds, and continence. The role emphasizes developing individualized care plans and educating patients and families for home management.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, MI RN license, WCC certification within 2 years, and BLS within 90 days. 1 year of relevant clinical nursing experience is preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required.
- Experience teaching patients and families.
- Competency-based orientation completion required.
- 1 year of clinical nursing experience preferred.
- MI RN License upon hire required.
- Wound care certification (WCC) within 2 years after hire.
- BLS certification within 90 days; ARC or AHA equivalent preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients' ostomy, wound, and continence needs.
- Develop and maintain patient-focused care plans.
- Assist discharge planning and transition to home or next care setting.
- Teach patients, families, and staff with appropriate strategies.
- Collaborate with nursing, medical staff, and departments to improve care.
- Develop quality indicators and improvements for wound, ostomy, and continence nursing.
