Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services is seeking a part-time wellness/fitness coordinator to support the Cobb County Human Resources Department. The role involves leading group exercise classes, conducting wellness presentations, and performing fitness assessments.
The position requires a degree in Exercise Science or related field and at least one year of fitness experience, with flexible hours between 8:00am and 6:00pm, Monday through Friday.
This position is located in the Cobb County Human Resources Department.
This position works up to 29 hours per week, Monday thru Friday. The schedule for this position will work hours ranging between 8:00am and 6:00pm, but flexibility in working hours is required.
Associates or Bachelors degree in the field of Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Health Promotion, Physical Education or related field; supplemented by one (1) year of experience in personal training, group fitness instruction, wellness programming, or a related fitness environment (experience may be through internships, practicum, or volunteer service); or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Must possess at least one of the following certifications: ACE, ACTION, AAPTE, ACSM, CSCS, Cooper Institute, NASM, NCSF, NCCPT, NESTA, NETA, NFPT, NSCA, ISSA.
Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station.
Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, depth, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, hazardous materials, fire, unsafe structures, heights, confined spaces, machinery, electric currents, toxic agents, animal/wildlife attacks, animal/human bites, water hazards, violence, disease, or rude/irate customers.
