Job summary

Southern Crescent Technical College is seeking a part-time Adjunct Instructor in Welding and Joining Technology at the Flint River Campus. You will develop course outlines, prepare lesson plans, instruct students, and evaluate progress in credited technical courses.

Minimum qualifications include a welding certification and at least 3 years of welding/joining experience; preferred qualifications include an Associate’s degree in Welding and Joining Technology and five years of related work

Qualifications

Must possess welding certification and/or welding professional credential.
Minimum 3 years welding/joining work experience.
Basic computer skills required; good interpersonal, organizational and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

Instructs and supervises students in Welding and Joining Technology.
Develops program and course outlines, goals and objectives; prepares lesson plans for credited courses.
Evaluates students’ progress toward goals and objectives; maintains supplies and equipment.
Prepares budget requests and maintains program certification requirements as needed.
Maintains required documentation and administrative reports; ensures safety in training area.
Meets with students, staff, and other educators to discuss instructional programs and issues.
Assists with recruitment, retention and job placement efforts.
