Job summary

Lone Star College is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach Welding Inspection Technology at multiple times and locations in the Texas area. The role requires teaching responsibilities across day, evening, and weekend classes, with a maximum of five classes per academic year.

Adjunct (part-time) status is contingent on student demand and campus needs. Responsibilities include designing engaging lessons, adhering to course syllabi, and maintaining professionalism with students and colleagues

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in metals science (metallurgy, welding technology, agriculture mechanics, industrial education, industrial arts, or industrial technology).
• Three years of related work experience in the field.

Responsibilities

• Teaches Welding Inspection Technology courses at a variety of times and locations.
• Creates engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material.
• Submits required college reports and forms in a timely manner.
• Utilizes a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines.
• Meets with and advises students before/after class or by appointment; uses electronic communication.
• Evaluates students to measure progress and informs them of progress.
• Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
• Attends meetings, trainings, and orientations as required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
