Job summary

Thrive Pet Healthcare is seeking a part-time Kennel Attendant at our Baton Rouge location to care for boarding dogs and cats. You will feed, water, bathe, walk, medicate, monitor health, and keep cages clean while warmly welcoming clients and pets.

Ideal candidates have canine experience, strong communication, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Weekend and holiday availability is required; a high school diploma is preferred and prior veterinary or animal-care experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; AAS or higher preferred.
• Veterinary hospital experience and/or candidate handling experience is required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, squatting, reach, standing, and walking throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Daily documentation of tasks (appetite, bathroom habits etc.).
• Check in and out boarding clients and patients.
• Verify vaccines.
• Maintain a clean kennel environment.
• Walking pets/taking outside.
• Administer food and medications to pets.
• Communicate with client updates on pets.
• Cleaning of hospital grounds (interior and exterior).
