Nuvia Staffing is seeking compassionate part-time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for weekend shifts in the Long Beach area of California. You will support individuals with disabilities, assist with daily living tasks, and implement behavior support plans in a safe, structured environment.

The role requires CPR/First Aid, Live Scan clearance, reliable transportation, and experience with autism or developmental disabilities.

Qualifications

• Current CPR/First Aid certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on, physically engaged support to individuals with developmental and behavioral challenges, ensuring safety and stability.
• Serve as a mentor and positive role model, building trusting relationships.
• Assist with daily living tasks including personal care, meals, and medication support.
• Implement individualized behavior support plans using approved techniques.
• Respond to escalated behaviors using de-escalation and safe interventions.
• Document behaviors, interventions, and client progress accurately.
• Lead structured, active programming and recreational activities aligned with behavioral goals.

About this position

About the role

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). In this role, you will provide essential care and support to individuals with disabilities or special needs, ensuring their well-being and promoting their independence.

Part -Time on the Weekends. Schedule may vary by location. Must be available both Saturday and Sunday

Shifts:

• 7AM to 3PM and 3 PM to 11PM (Pasadena)
• 6AM - 2PM, 2PM - 10PM, and 10PM to 6AM (Los Angeles, Long Beach, and Inglewood)

What you'll do

• Provide hands-on, physically engaged support to individuals with developmental and behavioral challenges, ensuring safety and stability in a fast-paced, high-interaction environment.
• Serve as a mentor and positive role model, building strong, consistent relationships that promote trust, accountability, and personal growth.
• Assist with daily living tasks including personal care, meal preparation, and medication support.
• Implement individualized behavior support plans using approved intervention techniques, maintaining control of situations while prioritizing dignity and safety.
• Respond confidently to escalated behaviors, including verbal aggression, resistance, or crisis situations, using trained de-escalation and, when necessary, safe physical intervention methods.
• Accurately document behaviors, interventions, and client progress in compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards.
• Lead structured, active programming and recreational activities that channel energy in positive ways and support behavioral goals.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and current car registration and insurance.
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification.
• Current Live Scan or the ability to obtain one.
• Negative TB test within the last 4 years.
• Proven experience in medication administration, with adherence to HIPAA regulations.
• Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is highly valued.
• Familiarity with caregiving, assisted living, social work, or nursing home environments.
• Strong interpersonal skills (written and verbal communication), with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, families, and colleagues.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment for individuals in your care.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

The pay range for this role is:

18.50 - 18.50 USD per hour(Los Ángeles, CA )

18.50 - 19 USD per hour(Long Beach, CA)

20 - 20 USD per hour(Pasadena, CA)

18.50 - 18.50 USD per hour(Inglewood, CA)
