SUNY Cortland seeks a part-time Assistant Operator with activated sludge experience to support the wastewater plant operations. The role requires current NYSDEC WWTP certification and a 2A or higher license.

You will monitor pumps and gauges, test parameters like pH and dissolved oxygen, document results, and assist in maintaining steady operation. Familiarity with a lab setting and basic 30-hour laboratory course is expected.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current 2A or higher Assistant Operator with active sludge certification.
• NYSD EC - WWTP Certification in New York State is mandatory.
• Completion of a DEC-approved 30.0 hour Basic Laboratory course or equivalent experience.

Responsabilités

• Check facility pumps and gauges; test and document pH, DO, TSS, temperature.
• Fix or correct flow issues to maintain smooth plant operation.
• Assist in operating the wastewater treatment plant during shifts as a substitute.
