Connected Tutors LLC is seeking a Part-Time Virtual Math Tutor for grades 6–12. You will teach the same students weekly via Google Meet, 30-minute sessions (45 minutes for small groups), focusing on rebuilding gaps and advancing grade-level math.

Requirements include a state teaching certificate and a bachelor's degree; math-focused advanced degrees are a plus. Role is fully remote with an evening schedule (4:00–8:00 pm ET) and a pay rate of $25.00–$30.00 per hour.

Job description

Part-Time Virtual Math Tutor (Grades 6--12) ---
Weekday Evenings 4:00--8:00pm ET

Schedule requirement

This role needs at least 6 hours per week of recurring sessions between 4:00 and 8:00pm Eastern Time, Monday through Thursday, with at least 2 of those evenings running until 8:00pm ET. That is 3:00--7:00pm Central, 2:00--6:00pm Mountain, or 1:00--5:00pm Pacific. We interview applicants who can commit to this minimum first. More hours are welcome. Daytime hours are available, however our immediate need is evenings.

Connected Tutors is a small, specialized virtual tutoring practice serving K--12 students nationwide. We are hiring a contract math tutor for middle and high school students in the after-school and evening hours, when our families need us most.

About the Role

You will teach the same students every week in one-on-one and small-group sessions on Google Meet. Sessions are 30 minutes (45 for small groups). You will rebuild foundational gaps, teach grade-level content, and adapt to each student's attention, confidence, and emotional state.

Our students include learners with ADHD, dyscalculia, executive function challenges, math anxiety, and learning gaps, as well as students working ahead.

You will work directly with our founder and lead educator to:

• Teach skill-based math from an assessment-informed plan
• Build regulation, confidence, and focus into every session
• Track progress and write brief session notes
• Make sessions relational, motivating, and effective

This is not a worksheet-only or scripted-curriculum role. Your judgment matters here.

What You'll Tutor

• Middle school math (grades 6--8), including fractions, ratios, and pre-algebra
• Algebra 1 and Algebra 2
• Geometry
• Foundational gaps for older students who missed earlier skills

Elementary math (K--5) is a strong plus. Tell us if you can teach it too.

Who We're Looking For

• Available at least 6 hours per week between 4:00 and 8:00pm ET, Monday--Thursday, including at least 2 evenings until 8:00pm ET
• An active teaching certificate in any U.S. state (secondary math, middle grades math, or special education preferred)
• Classroom, intervention, or tutoring experience with middle and high school math
• Comfort teaching on Google Meet with a digital whiteboard, with warmth and clarity
• Reliability with the same weekly students all school year
• Bachelor's degree required. Math degree, master's, or special education experience is a strong plus.

Schedule and Hours

• Part-time contract role, fully remote
• Minimum 6 hours per week in the 4:00--8:00pm ET window. Up to 12+ hours as students are matched.
• Recurring weekly sessions through the school year
