Job summary

Thrive Pet Healthcare in Meridian, ID, is seeking a Part-time, Overnight Shift ER Veterinary Technician to provide end-to-end care for emergency patients, including outpatient treatments, labs, and discharge support.

The role requires handling weekend shifts (Saturdays and Sundays) with overnight differential and a $1,000 sign-on bonus; licensure preferred and 2–3 years of clinical experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Veterinary technician licensure preferred.
• 2–3 years of clinical experience.
• Associate or Bachelor degree from AVMA-accredited program preferred; or equivalent education and training.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care and advocate for pets.
• Assist with surgeries and procedures and maintain patient flow.
• Communicate with clients about health concerns and Thrive Membership options.
• Maintain comprehensive medical records with practice systems.
• Obtain health history from clients and manage medical charts.
• Use safe restraining techniques and keep areas clean and organized.
• Mentor and support fellow team members.
• Provide end-to-end care for emergency patients including labs and discharge.

Schedule: Saturdays and Sundays. Overnight differential: $2/hr. Weekend differential: $2/hr.

We are looking for a Part‑time, Overnight Shift ER Veterinary Technician to join the Thrive Pet Healthcare community. The role involves providing end‑to‑end care for emergency patients, including outpatient treatments, laboratory tests, and support services such as admitting and discharging.

Role Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
• Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
• Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with the state's Veterinary Practice Act for credentialed veterinary technicians.
• Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
• Maintain comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
• Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
• Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
• Guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.

Experience & Skills Requirements

• Veterinary technician licensure preferred.
• 2–3 years of clinical experience.
• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA‑accredited veterinary technology program preferred; or equivalent education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
