Amerivet in Cornelius, Oregon is seeking an experienced Part-Time Veterinary Technician. The role involves rooming patients, assisting in surgery, monitoring anesthesia, and performing bloodwork with strong client communication.

Qualifications

• Certified Veterinary Technicians (highly preferred)
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a veterinary hospital or animal clinic
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
• Obtaining accurate and thorough medical histories
• Assisting doctor and other technical staff with surgeries
• Blood draws (cephalic and jugular)
• Placing IV catheters
• Digital radiology including positioning
• Dentistry (digital x-rays, scaling, polishing)
• Anesthesia (induction, intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique)
• Laboratory skills such as ear and fecal cytology; HM5; Vetscan; Sedivue
• Excellent client communication/education
• Passion for working with animals and their owners

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and preparing for exams
• Assisting surgeons during procedures and monitoring anesthesia
• Monitoring surgical patients and recovery
• Drawing blood and running bloodwork
• Placing IV catheters and maintaining IV lines
• Handling and restraining animals safely
• Knowledge of radiology positioning and imaging
• Using in-clinic lab equipment for testing
• Educating clients about procedures and care
