Job description

The Part Time Employee may be assigned to assist in veterinary laboratories, support DeBusk Veterinary Teaching Center general functions, and/or aid clinical education and research.

Required Qualifications
  • Ability to successfully interact with students, other educators, educational institution representatives, and the general public in a professional manner.
  • High school diploma.
  • Affection for animals, concern for their welfare, and a willingness to accommodate animals in the workplace.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree or bachelor degree in veterinary technology or related field.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students, and the community at large.
  2. Promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff, and students.
  3. Maintain proper security for all university files and information, following privacy procedures at all times.
  4. Maintain records and procedures for duties and responsibilities of the position.
  5. Complete required institutional, program accreditation, and other reports for university program advancement, both on campus and at extended campus sites.
  6. Contribute to the attainment of the mission of the university, school/college, and department.
  7. Maintain organized veterinary facilities.
  8. Ensure veterinary equipment is effective and safe, including preparation, utilization, and maintenance.
  9. Treat all animals humanely, properly, and with compassion at all times, regardless of the situation.
  10. Utilize learning management systems, specifically Blackboard.
  11. Involve students in research or professional experiences as appropriate.
  12. Assist and motivate veterinary students.
  13. Participate in preparation for specific courses as instructed by the course coordinator.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
