Job summary

Bluegrass Animal Hospital in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Part-Time Kennel Assistant to provide direct support to the kennel and care for its patients. You will assist with animal handling, feeding, and basic husbandry while maintaining a clean kennel.

The role emphasizes teamwork, good communication, and the ability to stay calm under stress. A veterinary background is preferred; physical lifting up to 40 pounds and standing for long periods are required.

Qualifications

• 2 years of professional experience in a veterinary clinical setting (CSR, kennel attendant, vet assistant, other), preferred.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to adjust to changes in the environment and handle stress in a calm manner.
• Must be a team player, have patience and maintain a positive attitude.
• Must be able to lift and restrain pets of at least 40 pounds, and work on feet most of the day.
