Shadow Hills Pet Clinic in Sun Valley, CA is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant for a part-time role. You will support surgical procedures, monitor anesthesia, perform blood draws, catheter placements, and radiology while delivering excellent client education.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years veterinary experience in a clinical setting
• Surgical assisting experience required
• Accurate medical histories and TPR knowledge
• Proficient in restraining animals and client communication
• Blood draws (cephalic, saphenous, jugular) and IV catheter placement
• Digital radiology experience and proper positioning
• Dental x-rays, scaling, polishing; anesthesia induction and monitoring
• Lab skills including cytology and in-house equipment
• Excellent client communication and education; CSR duties as assigned

Responsibilities

• Room patients and assist in surgery
• Monitor surgical patients and recovery
• Perform blood draws and run bloodwork
• Place IV catheters and manage restraints
• Position and operate digital radiology equipment
• Assist with dentistry procedures and anesthesia
• Perform in-clinic lab work and cytology
• Educate clients and support the team
