Job summary

Eye Care for Animals San Marcos is seeking a Part-time Veterinary Technician to join our team. The role includes patient care, client communication, and handling pre- and post-operative tasks.

Approximately 24 hours per week with potential for additional shifts; compensation ranges from $28-$34/hour based on licensure and experience. A valid veterinary license and prior experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous veterinary technician/assistant experience required
• Licensed Technician preferred
• Proficient in IV catheter placement, blood work, and IV, IM and SQ injections
• Proficient in monitoring anesthesia and equipment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task with a positive attitude

Responsibilities

• Handle animals and assist in pre- and post-operative care
• Discuss and present financial options and estimates to clients
• Accurately enter service charges into the client processing database
• Interact with clients throughout visits
• Prepare medications as needed
