Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing seeks a Hiker (Vehicle Transporter/Truck Driver) to deliver and return vehicles to Penske locations and customers in the Ypsilanti area. This casual, on-call, part-time role supports operations moving box trucks up to 26’, with CDL Class A preferred and Class B acceptable for supplemental income.

Pay is $20/hour for Class A and $19/hour for Class B; applicants must have a valid U.S. CDL and a clean driving record, with DOT compliance and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 2 years of driving experience required.
• 2 years of a clean DMV motor vehicle record required.
• English language proficiency as per DOT requirements.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.
• Ability to work independently with good customer service and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures while driving to Penske locations or customer sites.
• Check vehicles for mechanical and safety issues and report any problems.
• Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment when required.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damages.
• Complete other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
