Base pay range

$13.76/hr - $22.77/hr

Essential Functions

1. Operate diesel or gasoline-driven transit vehicles on scheduled routes, adhering to timeframes set by the City.
2. Pick up and drop off passengers at predetermined locations, ensuring all passengers are accounted for and monitoring conduct for safety.
3. Maintain and monitor the vehicle and equipment, ensuring cleanliness and safety, including cleaning windows, sweeping interiors, and securing items.
4. Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle, report unsafe findings or damages, and perform necessary maintenance or repairs. Maintain records and logs of travel, mileage, and incidents.
5. Drive unoccupied transit vehicles to transport supplies or assist with activity programming at destination locations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid Ohio Motor Vehicle Class B Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement and an excellent driving record.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED training (or ability to obtain).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Understanding of safe driving practices, basic vehicle maintenance, and traffic regulations.
• Ability to work with all age groups, follow directions, maintain order, and work under pressure.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 40 pounds, and perform other physical tasks as described.

Supervision and Environment

Works under the Mayor’s direction, mostly outdoors or in vehicles, with exposure to weather and road hazards. Constant public contact, no access to confidential info, and adherence to safety and equal employment policies.
