Job description

Join to apply for the Part Time - Usher - Grand Ole Opry role at Ryman Hospitality Properties.

Provide world-class hospitality and service to guests attending events at Opry Entertainment Group venues, including the Grand Ole Opry and Ryman Auditorium. Responsibilities include verifying tickets, assisting guests with seating, distributing approved handouts, crowd and video/photography control, responding to guest inquiries, and maintaining facility cleanliness during and after events. You will also respond promptly and appropriately in emergency situations.

Availability Needed
  • Tuesdays: 5:30 pm - 10:00 pm
  • Fridays & Saturdays: 5:30 pm - End of Event
  • One of the following nights: Wednesday/Thursday 5:30 PM - 10:00 PM

You may opt for up to 3 shifts per week, with potential for 4 during busy periods.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Verify ticket information for each show, ensuring correct event access.
  2. Provide seating directions and assist guests with seating.
  3. Control crowd movement and manage guest behavior during events.
  4. Distribute show programs and other approved materials.
  5. Guide guests through security procedures, including magnetometers.
  6. Respond swiftly in emergencies, coordinating evacuations and notifying security and medical personnel.
  7. Monitor assigned areas, address guest issues, and enforce rules.
  8. Maintain cleanliness of the facility, including restrooms and common areas.
  9. Handle guest complaints and escalate issues as needed.
  10. Share information about Ryman Hospitality Properties and upcoming events.
  11. Report maintenance concerns to management.
  12. Deliver excellent customer service using Ryman Hospitality Properties standards.
  13. Potentially serve as a Floor Lead or perform post-show tours.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills required.
  • Valid CPR certification or obtain within 90 days of start.
  • Complete Crowd Management Training.
