Job summary

NextCare is seeking a Part-time clinician in Kansas City, KS to join a fast-paced, community-focused urgent care team. The role offers variety, autonomy, and meaningful impact while maintaining true work-life balance. Expect schedules that support days off and a patient population with usually lower acuity.

You will work with experienced clinical teams, receive real-time guidance, and contribute to high-quality care across a broad patient mix.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted KS license for NP/PA
• Board certification or eligibility (NCCPA for PA; ANCC/AANP for NP; FNP required)
• Active DEA license or ability to obtain
• Ability to treat patients of all ages
• Active BLS certification
• EHR proficiency
• Willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays
• DOT certification required or willingness to obtain

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting
• Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging
• Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing and wound management (as applicable)
• Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR
• Code and bill services appropriately
• Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks
• Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values
