Job Summary:


The Universal Banker I is responsible for fulfilling standard Universal Banker responsibilities and will be expected to grow and develop into the Universal Banker II role on or before the designated timeframe.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:



  • Verify important information including endorsements, dates, and identification, to cash or deposit checks and pay out funds.

  • Conduct various banking transactions, including cash checks, accept deposits, and issue customer receipts.

  • Prepare, verify, and issue cashier's checks and money orders.

  • Balance cash drawer daily according to established procedures and report any teller cash differences immediately to the direct supervisor.

  • Balance all vaults at end of day.

  • Answer Branch phones and assist customers.

  • Attend and contribute to staff and Bank meetings.

  • Demonstrate a helpful, friendly, and team-player attitude.

  • Follow established security protocol including proper robbery/hold-up procedures.

  • Maintain the teller area to ensure the safety of all negotiable instruments and confidential records.

  • Travel to other locations as needed.

  • Work varying schedules based on branch hours including the Saturday rotation.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:



  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Thorough understanding of customer service and Bank products/services.

  • Ability to remain friendly and calm in stressful situations.

  • Above average knowledge of fundamental mathematics.


Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications:



  • High school diploma or recognized equivalent required.

  • 1+ years of customer service experience required.

  • Experience in retail sales preferred.

  • Experience in a professional financial environment preferred.

  • Cash handling and transactional experience preferred.

  • Bi-lingual preferred.


Equipment/Software:



  • Ability to operate general office equipment, banking equipment, and banking systems.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
