Job summary

Allied Universal in Ottawa, IL is seeking a part-time Unarmed Patrol Officer to monitor and protect client sites, respond to incidents, and provide excellent customer service. This role involves driving to the chemical and petrochemical location, maintaining a visible presence, and enforcing site policies and safety procedures.

The position offers weekend shifts (Sat-Sun 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM) with a pay rate of $15.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required under federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; report observations and complete required documentation.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access to the chemical and petrochemical manufacturing location, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and direct visitors and contractors appropriately.
• Follow site requirements for working around industrial operations, including applicable personal protective equipment and restricted-area protocols.
