Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed) for a residential community in Los Angeles, CA. You will patrol premises, monitor access, and maintain a visible security presence to deter incidents while providing professional customer service to residents and visitors.

The role emphasizes routine patrols, observation reporting, and calm incident response, with a schedule that supports a flexible part-time arrangement and compliance with site policies.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, contractors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of residential buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures; verify credentials and direct guests, deliveries, and contractors as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities according to site policy.
• Prepare accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation while maintaining a professional presence throughout the residential community.
