Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer (Unarmed Patrol Credential Intake) in Houston, TX. You will patrol, monitor access, and provide high-quality customer service to tenants, visitors, and staff, while maintaining safety and security protocols.

The role emphasizes flexible scheduling, a focus on visible presence to deter incidents, and collaboration with a caring, innovative team that puts people first. Minimum experience in security is preferred along with valid credentials.

Qualifications

• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and property representatives by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of commercial property buildings, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity or maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access to the location, observe visitor and contractor activity, and report unauthorized entry or policy violations according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document actions taken.
• Prepare accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and patrol logs in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
