Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer (Part Time, Unarmed Alarm Response Patrol) in Bessemer, AL to monitor and safeguard clients across tech/media/telecom locations. You will provide a visible presence, respond to alarms, control access, and deliver excellent customer service.

This Part-Time role offers a flexible schedule with a pay rate of $17.46 per hour. A high school diploma, background check, and drug screen are required; prior security or badge experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and delivery personnel at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of office areas, common spaces, parking areas, loading zones, and the property perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and access concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify visitor, contractor, and delivery credentials in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters to appropriate personnel as directed.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required activity logs for patrols, incidents, and security-related observations.
