Job summary

Allied Universal in Springfield, IL is seeking a part-time Security Officer (Unarmed Patrol Coverage) to safeguard government locations and assist visitors and staff with professionalism. The role offers flexible DayTime and Weekend shifts and the chance to contribute to a dependable security program.

You will monitor assigned areas, deter incidents, and report observations while delivering excellent customer service. A background check and drug screening are required where allowed by law.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or contractors at a government location while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner and communicate observations to appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site-specific procedures, helping to maintain an orderly environment.
• Prepare accurate daily activity reports and document incidents, observations, and/or unusual conditions according to Allied Universal and site requirements.
