Job summary

Alameda Health System in Oakland, CA is seeking a Part Time Sonographer II (Internal Only) to perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures under the Diagnostic Imaging Director. This position requires ARDMS/ARRT registry in ultrasound, BLS certification, and 12 months of recent clinical ultrasound experience.

The role is half-time (FTE 0.5) with a competitive hourly pay range. The incumbent will train staff and students, document results, operate ultrasound equipment, and ensure quality imaging

Qualifications

• Education: Registry by ARDMS or ARRT in ultrasound.
• Minimum Experience: Twelve months recent experience in clinical ultrasound.
• Required Licenses/Certifications: BLS - Basic Life Support Certification.
• Required Licenses/Certification's: Current ARDMS certification, or ARRT ultrasound registry; must be registered in one anatomical specialty.

Responsibilities

• Assists in orienting new staff and training Sonography students.
• Explains process to patient and assists patient in exam positioning.
• Keys test data and patient information into ultrasound equipment to maintain test records.
• Operates ultrasound equipment to produce images and records diagnostic data.
• Maintains a clean, organized work area and manages equipment/inventory.
• Selects equipment and transducers according to exam specifications.
• Adjusts controls and transducer to suit organ and depth for examination.
