Job summary

As part of the team, you will work with staff to obtain syllabi, tailor tutoring approaches to individual needs, and contribute to professional development and department activities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Transcripts and/or a proficiency test may be required.

Responsibilities

• Effectively delivers tutoring services to students at scheduled times (may be individual or group sessions).
• Assists students with the development of study skills necessary for post-secondary education.
• Keeps regular and accurate records of tutoring sessions.
• Monitors and reviews student work; modifies and personalizes tutoring strategies.
• Facilitates the learning process by encouraging students to take responsibility for their progress.
• Interacts with LSC staff and/or faculty to obtain syllabi or materials and to develop tutoring materials.
• Delivers feedback to staff regarding student progress.
• Continues professional education through research relevant to the subject matter.
• May assist with additional duties (e.g., Courtesy Counter, answering phones, organizing materials).
• Completes required documents accurately and timely; participates in departmental meetings.
