Job summary

College of Southern Nevada is seeking part-time tutors to support students at the North Las Vegas Campus. Tutors meet with students in person or online to clarify learning challenges, strengthen study skills, and reinforce course material as part of the Centers for Academic Success.

Tutors review material, discuss reading strategies, predict test questions, and help formulate ideas for papers. The role supplements classroom instruction with flexible hours and a maximum of 20 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Have at least 12 hours of undergraduate coursework with a minimum 3.0 overall GPA (transcripts must be submitted).
• Have earned a B or higher in the subject you wish to tutor.
• Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills with students from varied backgrounds.
• Demonstrate knowledge of effective study skills and strategies during tutoring sessions.
