Job summary

Sylvan Learning is a provider of supplemental education for pre-K through 12th grade. This part-time instructor role involves teaching in a small group, following the Sylvan curriculum and using provided tools to deliver personalized instruction in Reading, Writing, Math and test prep.

You will guide students, monitor progress, and communicate needs to the center manager; training is provided and the schedule is flexible with weekday afternoons/evenings and Saturday mornings.

Qualifications

• Part-time role with training on Sylvan curriculum.
• Teach in small groups (3:1) setting.
• Provide instruction in Reading, Writing, Math, Study Skills, SAT/ACT prep and State exams.

Responsibilities

• Teach using Sylvan based programs
• Supervise, interact with and motivate students during instruction hour while they work with equipment and materials
• Reward students for completed assignments
• Evaluate and document student progress
• Communicate student needs to the center manager
