Qualifications

  • Must maintain an active RDA License registered with the Texas State Board.
  • Experience in dental management software preferred.
  • Current CPR and Nitrous Oxide monitoring certifications desired.

Job description

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must maintain an active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) License registered with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE)
  • Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) preferred
  • Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide
  • Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training
  • Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience helpful
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred
  • Ability to travel

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Making Patient Safety and Team Safety the number one priority
  • Adhering to OSHA and Infection Control Protocols
  • Maintaining and upkeeping digital patient information
  • Preparing tray set-ups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures
  • Keep exam rooms clean, disinfected, organized, and stocked according to the required standards at the beginning and end of each treatment
  • Educating patients and parents on the benefits of good oral health
  • Monitoring the patient's physical and emotional well-being during the entire visit
  • Reviewing the patient chart and health history prior to the doctor arrival and reconfirming the patient's chief concern
  • Taking diagnostic quality X-Rays and attaching them to the patient chart
  • Helping the Rodeo Team maintain office cleanliness and IC protocol
  • Completing daily assignments
  • Monitoring and recording patient vital signs
  • Suctioning, cutting sutures, and holding retractors
  • Mixing amalgam, cement, and pulp paste and preparing impression materials
  • Pouring, trimming, and polishing impression trays
  • Assisting with bonding, banding, adjusting, and debonding orthodontic patients
  • Placing and cementing bands
  • Setting up orthodontic brackets and removing excess cement from brackets and bands
  • Making retainers, bleaching trays, and impressions
  • Maintaining crash cart equipment and supplies
  • Working with oral and IV sedated patients in office and hospital settings
  • Providing excellent chairside assistance and anticipating next steps to stay in constant mental synchronization with the doctor
  • Ensuring the patient and parent comprehends the post-op instructions

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged sitting and standing as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
