Job summary

Union County's Transportation division seeks a Driver BPT responsible for picking up citizens and transporting them to human services and other destinations, with emphasis on safety, timely service, and courteous conduct. You will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintain vehicle cleanliness, operate GPS and tablets for data entry, and assist passengers, including securement of wheelchairs and belts.

You may work outside regular hours for events.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• At least 6 months of experience in public driving, chauffeuring, and/or scheduling.
• Valid Driver’s License with a safe driving history.

Responsibilities

• Drive citizens to destinations for the Transportation division.
• Organize schedule to ensure timely pickups and drop-offs.
• Call passengers with proposed pick up times for early morning appointments.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles.
• Maintain a clean and safe vehicle.
• Assist passengers including those with disabilities with boarding and safety restraints.
• Operate GPS and tablets for data entry and dispatch communication.
• Complete accident/incident reports as required.
